Furmano's announces winner of "Get your Sauce on" recipe contest

Northumberland, PA –April 25, 2005 – Consumers across the East Coast were recently asked to “Get their Sauce on” by creating a saucy recipe using Furmano’s canned tomatoes. The winning recipe, “Sauced up Thai-Style Shrimp” created by Candy McMenamin of Lexington, South Carolina is perfect for summer and will make everyone excited to sauce it up Furmano’s style.

From pastas to lasagnas and beyond, judges poured over the saucy dishes, looking for just the right recipe to wow their taste buds. As one Furmano’s judge explained “We wanted to find a recipe that was easy to make, creative, and of course, delicious. The winning recipe “Sauced up Thai-Style Shrimp” definitely accomplishes all of that…and more.”

Using Furmano’s new Petite Diced Tomatoes with Cilantro and Lime, as well as chunky peanut butter, McMenamin was able to perfect the Thai flavor. McMenamin purchased her Furmano’s products at Food Lion in Lexington, SC.

As grand prize winner, McMenamin was awarded an 8-piece Calphalon Infused Anodized Cookware Set valued at $479.95!

Starting May 1st consumers are encouraged to enter Furmano’s next recipe contest on www.furmanos.com. With Cinco de Mayo right around the corner, this “Get your Salsa On” themed recipe contest will look for dishes with a Mexican flair and the grand prize is a trip to Mexico!
