Salsa Style Soup is Simply Delicious!
Furmano's announces winner of “Get your Salsa on” recipe contest
Northumberland, PA – July 14, 2005 – Tying into the Cinco de Mayo holiday, Furmano Foods recently asked consumers across the East Coast to “Get their Salsa on” by creating a Mexican themed recipe using Furmano’s canned tomatoes. The winning recipe, “Salsa Style Green Chile Chicken Bisque,” created by Nikki Norman of Milton, Tennessee is not only extremely delicious (think gourmet) but also very easy to make.
Using Furmano’s new Petite Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies, Norman’s winning recipe provided a nice balance of both flavor and texture. As one judge pointed out, “The creamy consistency of the bisque makes it smooth, while the green chilies give it a nice hot kick.” All of the judges felt the recipe was superb and everyone went back for seconds.
Norman purchased her Furmano’s products at Harris Teeter in Nashville, Tennessee. She said that the quality of Furmano’s products is outstanding. “All of Furmano’s products taste so fresh, they are an easy alternative to having your own garden.” As grand prizewinner, Norman will be spending 5 nights at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico.
Consumers are encouraged to enter Furmano’s next recipe contest on www.furmanos.com. With the “Get your Salad On” themed recipe contest Furmano’s will look for delicious summer salad recipes that use Furmano tomato products. The grand prizewinner will be awarded a George Forman indoor/outdoor grill and a set of Circulon grill tools.
