The tsunami left a wake of devastation and terrible loss of life. The international community responded immediately with relief funds, food, tents, and items necessary for those who had lost everything but their lives. However, what tends to happen is that as media spotlight turns to other events, the world begins to forget that there are many thousands of people who still need help to survive.

Furmano Foods wanted to be a part of the continuing aid by supplying a production of #10 Great Northern Beans to the Feed the Children organization. The company supplied its facility and equipment, employees donated their time, dry bean supplier donated the raw materials and our can supplier, Crown Cork and Seal supplied the cans.

A special production run was scheduled for Saturday March 12, 2005 during which two container loads of beans were produced for donation to the relief effort. Feed the Children shipped the supplies to Indonesia and surrounding areas of need in Southeast Asia.
