Spicy Hot Hot Mussels



  • 2 pound Fresh Mussels, Rinsed & Cleaned
  • 3 1/2 cups Furmano's Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/2 cup Dry White Wine
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  1. Cook mussels per directions.
  2. Cook mussels in a steamer until all of them have opened.
  3. Throw away half of the shells, retaining the halves that the mussels are attached to.
  4. Meanwhile, in a pot, combine all ingredients and bring to boil; simmer until all surface liquid is gone.
  5. Put steamed mussels, shell down, in a baking dish. Pour the sauce over all, covering the mussels completely.
  6. Bake in pre-heated oven at 450 degrees until all sauce is bubbling.
  7. Remove from oven and let sit for 3 minutes.
  8. Serve with crusty bread that you can dip into sauce.
