Chunky Parmesan Tomato Chowder



  • 2 cups White Onion, Coarsely Chopped
  • 6 slices Bacon, Coarsely Chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
  • 3 1/2 cups Furmano's Chunky Crushed Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic & Oregano
  • 14 ounces Chicken Broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, Grated
  • 3/4 cup Whipping Cream
  • As Needed Rustic Bread, Sliced
  1. Preheat a large, non-stick saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and bacon. Saute over medium heat for 4-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions begin to turn transparent.
  2. Add balsamic vinegar and stir to coat onions and bacon. Saute for an additional 1-3 minutes until onions begin to caramelize.
  3. Add Furmano's Chunky Crushed Tomatoes with Basil, Garlic & Oregano, chicken broth, salt, grated Parmesan cheese, and cream. Stir well.
  4. Continue to cook over medium heat for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. To serve, ladle into individual serving bowls. Top with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
  6. Serve warm with torn pieces of rustic bread.
