Burgundy Pork Pizza

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces Lean Ground Pork
  • 3 1/2 cups Furmano's Chunky Crushed Tomatoes
  • 4 ounces Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Red Burgundy Wine
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Havarti Cheese, Shredded
  • 1/2 each Recipe Secrets Onion Seasoning Mix
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Minced Garlic
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Dry Basil, Crushed
  • 1 each Prepared Pizza Dough
Preparation
  1. Spread pizza dough over a 12" pan or baking sheet; let rise for 30 minutes.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, saute garlic in olive oil until tender.
  3. Add ground pork, saute until a color change. Remove the mixture to a paper towel; drain.
  4. Wipe out the skillet with a paper towel; add Furmano's Chunky Crushed Tomatoes, Recipe Secrets Onion Seasoning Mix, salt, pepper, basil, wine, and drained pork.
  5. Bring to a boil; then simmer for about 20 to 25 minutes to reduce some of the liquid.
  6. Before removing from heat, fold in mushrooms; blend and stir for a couple of minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
  8. Spread the mixture over the pizza dough; bake in preheated oven for about 8 minutes.
  9. Remove pizza from oven; sprinkle havarti cheese over pizza.
  10. Bake again until bottom is lightly browned and cheese has melted.
  11. Remove from oven and let cool for a minute.
  12. Slice and serve.
